I have recently had a workplace injury and need treatment. How do I start?
To open a WSIB claim, you will have to inform your employer and complete the necessary paperwork in order to open your claim. Once the injuries are reported and a claim in open with WSIB you will be provided with a claim number which we will require prior to your first appointment. At your appointment our team will evaluate injuries and create a treatment plan. Additionally, we will complete the paperwork necessary to facilitate implementation of modified duties if required. At NeuroSync we handle the billing for your WSIB claim directly. We work directly with them for payment ensuring you will not be liable for any expenses.
What is Pelvic Floor Therapy and what can I expect?
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is a specialized physiotherapy which helps treat conditions involving the pelvic basin including urinary frequency, incontinence, pelvic floor prolapse, pelvic pain and pain with intercourse. The pelvic floor can also be related to other conditions such as chronic low back pain, hip pain, lower limb issues as well as neck, jaw and head function. Your first visit will consist of a thorough health history and evaluation. A physical exam will be conducted including posture and movement analysis. If you are comfortable, an internal assessment may also be conducted. The internal exam includes observation of the anatomy to help the therapist identify any scarring, irritation or imbalances. Additionally neurological function tests may be performed along with muscle tests for strength and coordination. Internal organs may be manually assessed to determine positioning and mobility.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first appointment typically includes a detailed assessment of your condition, movement patterns, and goals. This gives you an opportunity to discuss your goals, medical history and any related information. Upon completion of your initial physical assessment you will be provided with treatment options and patient education which helps guide a structured plan suited to your needs.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
We at NeuroSync do not require a referral however your insurance provider may request a referral in order to compensate you for your visit. Kindly get in touch with your insurance directly to see if a referral is required and what they will cover per visit and/or annually.
How long does each session last and how many sessions will I need?
The first session (the initial assessment) is always approximately an hour long. Going forward sessions can be between 30-60 minutes, varying case-to-case. Once we start your treatment plan, your treating therapist will advise you on how long to book the sessions for. The number of sessions you need depend on your condition. All patients are individually evaluated. You will get this information from your therapist as well during the initial assessment.
Is my treatment covered through OHIP?
NeuroSync does not provide treatment covered by OHIP. You must attend a clinic that specifically provides Physiotherapy through OHIP. In Ontario, OHIP covers treatment for patients who meet certain criteria such as over 65 years of age, recently been discharged from hospital or patients recovering from surgeries or significant health events.

Do you bill directly to my insurance?
Yes, we do offer direct billing provided your insurance and/or policy allow it. Please be advised that we do not dictate how much of your visit is covered under your plan. What do I need to do after my visit?
Your rehab is a partnership between the therapist and yourself. After completing your visit, you will be provided instructions from your therapist for home care. This may involve either heat or ice to help the body recover, restrictions on activities or a home exercise program. You must maintain a healthy lifestyle and monitor your progress. Discuss any new concerns or achievements with your practioner so that the treatment can be adjusted accordingly if necessary. The goal is to help you get back to your daily activities and for that you require commitment to your recovery not only at the clinic but at home as well.
